Ad hoc committees are time limited, and generally led by at least one member of the current Board of Directors.

Women Meeting



Dawn House Womenís Shelter is a non-profit (charitable organization). Since 1986, Dawn House has served as a 24-hour emergency and transitional shelter for women and their children in Kingston. The Board of Directorsí Nominating Committee is seeking individuals who are passionate, and committed to lead Dawn House into the future.

To ensure continued excellence in the organizational structure and governance of Dawn House, the Nominating Committee is specifically seeking individuals with expertise in legal issues, strategic planning, accounting and financial management, union-management relations, and/or non-profit governance.

The time commitment of a Dawn House Board Member is approximately 4-6 hours monthly at this time (i.e., including meetings, email correspondence, and committee work.)

Applications received are vetted by the current Board of Directors, and applicants will be advised of their success by email or phone from either the Executive Director or the Board Chair.
